The ReCha project aims to establish 60 local "Recycling Champions" from the Mitchells Plain area and beyond. These champions will set up collection points at their homes, where fellow community members can drop off recyclable materials like plastic, aluminum, cardboard, and paper in exchange for cash.
This approach helps reduce waste, prevent pollution, conserve natural resources, and create jobs—all while simplifying the recycling process.
The process is straightforward: waste collectors sort their materials, pick up bags from their local ReCha, and return them once full. The bags are weighed—using precise and reliable scales—and collectors are paid according to the weight and type of material.
